Reimagining Waste: Baramouda Participates in National Dialogue on Organic Waste Transformation in Egypt
Imagine a future where Egypt’s 20–25 million tons of municipal solid waste (MSW) and 30–40 million tons of agricultural waste are no longer discarded — but converted into clean energy, sustainable fertilizers, and vital inputsfor national agricultural projects.
This vision took a bold step forward at the 2nd National Working Group Meeting of the project:
“Focus and Discourse on Organic Waste in Egypt and Jordan”, bringing together the region’s leading voices in waste management, innovation, and environmental sustainability.
Chaired by:
- Mr. Yasser Abdullah, Chairman of the Waste Management Regulatory Authority, Egyptian Ministry of Environment
- Prof. Sherien Elagroudy, Director of the Egypt Solid Waste Management Center of Excellence, Ain Shams University
This event was a true milestone in reshaping the narrative around organic waste — from challenge to opportunity.
